Oh No!

The other day Darren and I were driving back from New Mexico. I ran my hand through my hair, went to drop the stray strands on the floor and gasped when I saw that in the mix was a long white one. I held it up to Darren who promptly swore it was just really blond. Now my hair is weird. If I pulled out ten strands they would all be so different. Some are really thick and course and almost black. Some are soft, thin and blond. Some change in color or texture from top to bottom. I'm used to finding blond hair come out of my hair even though I'm definitely brunette. But this was most certainly not blond - it was white I tell you - WHITE. But it was so long! How could I have missed it? How could Darren have missed it? A few of my friends complain about gray hair already and so I've been on the lookout ever since. Darren has been given implicit instructions that as soon as he sees gray in my hair he has to tell me so I can start being a slave to the salon. My first gray hair at 32? How sad.

My first gray hair was at 29, and I haven't had one since, so there's hope!

I have had gray hair since I was 21, now it is really starting to show. Consider yourself lucky at only 32 it is starting!

You have enough of the beautiful thick brown hair that no one will notice one white hair. But you might be in trouble if you have two of them...just kidding!!

I definately have SOME grays, but I'm still in the "plucking" stage! One of these days I'm sure I'll be a slave to a salon too:)

Consider yourself blessed! Your Dad found his first one at 18. I was in my early thirties as well.

Well as you know we already had this conversation. I have been finding one in the same place for over 6 months I pull it and the darn thing keeps coming back. I am your younger sister at 25. Do you here 25. So I am feeling a little better that you found one. You should think 32 is an acommplishemnt for your first hair you have 4 kids girl you are doing great. I have none. My hair will probably fall out on my fourth child. :) Oh man I hope not!

Consider yourself lucky! Sorry-- but you ain't getting no sympathy from me up here in Vancouver. I got my first one at 23, which I blamed on stress but then a whole lot more started coming in at 26 and now at 27 I just had to pull out like 10 nasty wirey WHITE hairs!! Now that is SAD!! Boohoo for you ;) If I could look as good as you at 32 after 4 kids, I'd definitely be lucky! Girl, you are doing great, especially after having 4 kids! Give yourself some credit! LOVE YA! :)

32 is nothin', girl! You should be grateful you haven't gotten one until now! You won't get any sympathy from me, either! I feel lucky that I got my first in my later 20s because others in my family have started having to color their hair in their 20s. And don't worry -- it's years in between finding the first one and needing to color your whole head because of gray! I promise! So you've got lots of time!

Golly, Heidi. My first grays started about 5 years ago, and we're the same age!!! I'm not worried though. I know beautiful gray haired women. It's all good. ;)
